This is a replica Japanese military sword. While there are no particular signs of rust or damage, there are several scratches on the blade and scabbard. There are also marks on the tip of the scabbard where a fitting was likely attached, making it a slightly difficult item. Although it does not rattle or make noise when swung, it is likely intended for display.
