The 10-plate iron jinsasa hat is said to be rare.
There is some lacquer peeling, but the iron plates are undamaged.
The original fittings for the inner padding are still firmly attached, all four of them.
The lacquered torso is also made of iron and bears the same family crest as the armor chest.
It can be read as Ashu, which I believe refers to the former province of Awa (Tokushima Prefecture).
It is a very unusual family crest that does not appear in searches, but it may be a variation of the Hachisuka family's swastika crest, or it may resemble crests like Oiri-kei or Kuginuki. Since the Miyoshi clan, who ruled Awa in the Muromachi period, had the Kuginuki crest, it could be the crest of their retainers. It might be the crest of a warlord who existed in the Sengoku period, before the Edo period.

This armor was not for a warlord, but was a loaned armor (kashigusoku), a rental armor of the time for ashigaru or those who did not regularly fight.

It is said that there were many of these at the time, but because they were used by frontline soldiers, they suffered heavy damage, and few remain today.
It is not a two-piece torso, and it seems there were no other pieces of armor originally, so it feels quite inadequate as protection. However, in terms of being lightweight and easy to move in, even though it's all iron, it might be light.
The armor chest also has considerable damage due to its age.
