Description

This is a work by Makoto Sasaki, one of Japan's leading printmakers. (Passed away suddenly in July 2011 at the age of 70).

This is a pop, multi-colored lithograph with the theme of two children playing on a horizontal bar. It is edition 76/100 and is signed with the title Gymnastics.

The artwork features the artist's characteristic simple style, reminiscent of a child's drawing, and cheerful colors that brighten the viewer's mood.

I found it at a gallery in Shinjuku about 25 years ago and impulsively bought it because I loved it so much.
The production date is unknown, but it is believed to be from the 1990s.

After being displayed on walls and shelves, it was stored in a closet due to a move. I am now selling it as part of a decluttering effort.

As time has passed, there are signs of age, such as stains and yellowing on the matting.
The artwork itself shows no major damage.

The frame is made of metal, and there is a seal from Nomura Kogeisha on the backing board.

Artwork size:
W20cm x H25cm
