Description
DESCRIPTION Beautiful vintage blue and white ceramic cachepot featuring an intricate reticulated/pierced lattice design, scalloped rim, cobalt-blue floral and vine decoration, and a Greek-key-style scroll border around the base. The openwork construction gives it the appearance of a woven ceramic basket. The interior and exterior are glazed, while the underside has an unglazed foot rim. A small hand-applied blue 6 or 9 mark appears on the underside. This is especially attractive for Chinoiserie, Grandmillennial, Traditional, English Country, Coastal, or blue-and-white décor. Similar pierced pieces are commonly described in the market as reticulated ceramic or porcelain baskets/cachepots.
