This piece is a Chip Jones 2001 studio art glass vase, which features his signature, heavy clear-cased glass body and distinct vivid-toned, suspended, internal swirls -color suspension. Beautiful glass clarity.  Heavy Cased Glass - Over 6 lbs directly in your title. Art glass collectors equate heavy, clear-cased crystal walls with high-end craftsmanship.  This vase is in beautiful pre-owned condition. There is the barely noticeable pontil scar (caused during the hand blowing process, as the iron rod is snapped off and sometimes snaps a small piece of the glass) on the bottom, under the stamp or signature. You can see in the pictures, It is oval (fingernail size) about half an inch, hard to get in the pictures. This one mark is smoothed over and completely hidden when the piece is sitting upright and does NOT ruin display value. However, the notch has been taken into consideration when pricing the vase for the sake of the meticulous eye of collectors.
