Description
Vintage Southern Belle Block Quilt. A variation of the popular “Sunbonnet Sue” design. Hand pieced and quilted with a simple binding and white backside. 12 blocks featuring Southern Belles in bonnets holding Parasols. Calico florals and other retro prints were used for their dresses and coordinating umbrellas and bonnets. Light green printed block borders. So cute!! Age unknown, but very soft and gauzy cotton with a broken-in feel. This quilt shows wear from use and age. It most notably has some tears at the seams, some rips with exposed batting, fraying on the edges and some marks and stains. Some of the fabric has fading and wash wear. The appliqués are all in pretty good condition with minimal issues. Would be most suitable as a cutter for upcycling into other projects.
