Croatia 31 (11-14, 20-16) 30 Japan

[Match Review]
The second match (against Croatia) opened with Komatsu's two consecutive fast breaks. In the first half, Japan scored with fast breaks, long shots, parallel attacks, post plays, cut-ins, four 7-meter throws, and various other shots. Defensively, Tomita made several fine saves, and Asai, not to be outdone, blocked two consecutive 7-meter throws, ending the first half with a score of 14-11.
Similar to the previous day, Japan conceded seven consecutive goals at the start of the second half, falling behind by four points. However, Omae, who came on as a substitute, scored with a fast break, Sakugawa scored from the side, and a brilliant sky play from Sakugawa to Tanaka (Mi) also succeeded, bringing the score level with 13 minutes remaining. Immediately after, Japan conceded two consecutive goals and fell behind again. The game then went back and forth, and although Tanaka (Mi) scored with one second left, time ran out. The final score was 30-31. With three matches remaining in the preliminary league, we aim for victory.

[Scorers] Tanaka (Mi) 8, Kinjo/Komatsu 4, Sakugawa/Omae/Hayafune 3, Sakamoto/Nakamura 2, Mizuno 1
