Vintage Pottery Barn Japan Set 7 Square Salad Plates Blue Green Studio Pottery

Beautiful vintage set of 7 Pottery Barn square salad / dessert plates, made in Japan and dating to approximately the late 1990s–early 2000s.  These have a wonderful Japanese studio-pottery aesthetic with softly irregular square shapes, gently upturned/wavy edges, warm brown rims and loose cobalt blue and soft green brushstroke decoration against a creamy off-white glaze.  The pieces have intentional variations in shape and decoration that give the set an artisan, hand-finished appearance rather than the look of conventional mass-market dinnerware.  Each plate is backstamped:  POTTERY BARN MADE IN JAPAN  We have been unable to identify the original Pottery Barn pattern name. They appear to be from the earlier era of Pottery Barn's Japanese-made dinnerware and are being offered by description rather than attributing them to an unverified pattern.  Set Includes: 7 square salad / dessert plates  Approximate Measurements: 7¼–7½ square  Condition: Good vintage preowned condition with glaze crazing present on some pieces, as shown in the photographs. No chips or structural cracks noted. The crazing is within the glazed surface and is particularly visible on several of the plates. Minor surface and utensil wear may be present consistent with age and use.  Please review all photographs carefully for individual condition, crazing, glaze variation and details.
