This is an Oribe ware mizusashi (freshwater container) by Shigeru Yamaguchi, a potter from Seto, with its original wooden box. It comes with a wooden lid only, not a lacquered one. It feels as though it was made in imitation of old Oribe ware.
I have included photos, but the dirt on the bottom may be from age or intentional aging by the artist ❓ Please judge from the photos.
