Vintage Earl Bernard Bookends: Girl Reading Book in Meadow

Adorable vintage bookends by Earl Bernard, made in Japan. Charming hand-painted bookends featuring a seated girl reading a book. Bright red hair and shoes with white dress accents add whimsical color. They each have slight flaws. One, you can see some glue at base of feet and some of white paint is chipping a little. The bow has some paint that has come off as well. The other, the paint on girls hair has chipped a little and the base has separated a little from backboard but still feels sturdy. Both have small dents in corners where wood has chipped away. Felt intact on bottom of both and each have label. One label is missing part of it. Fairly lightweight. Great for girls room or to add to collection. For their age, in fair to good condition. With a touch of a paintbrush, could look as good as new. Approx. 5” tall, 4” wide.
