Origin of Hosen-do Kūami
Hosen-do began when Kūami, a fan craftsman from Kyoto, moved to Edo during the Genroku era, when Kabuki was popular and Japanese dance flourished. He established his shop in Asakusa, near Senso-ji Temple. Since then, it has continued to be a specialty shop for Japanese dance fans.
