Vtg Wedgewood Cup & Saucer Cal UC Berkeley Diamond Jubilee MINT
Wedgewood

Description
One of the more curious pieces of vintage Wedgwood made for an American university that I've come across! This is a demitasse cup and saucer (excellent condition) made in 1941 to commemorate Cal's diamond jubilee. Saucer features images of the campus in the rim. The cup itself has an image of the campanile on one side and on the other several student performers in the Big C Sirkus, a short-lived campus variety show of the era. Both cup and saucer are marked with the Wedgwood mark, the importer in Boston a copyright of 1941 by California Plates. No wear, chips or cracks on these items.
