Yugen 21 Specifications

Built-in Preamp
If you amplify the sound from the pickup directly with a regular amplifier (mainly for guitars), the sound tends to become tinny. To amplify the sound naturally as a shamisen, a preamp with adjusted frequency bands is built into the body. It is adjusted according to the tone of each type of shamisen: thin neck, medium neck, and thick neck (Tsugaru).

Dedicated Pickup Microphone
A dedicated vibration pickup microphone is adhered to the back of the skin. Unlike general guitar pickups, the element has been redesigned specifically for the shamisen. Furthermore, the individual characteristics of the skin, which are unavoidable as it is a living material, are adjusted by the subtle placement of the pickup.

Volume and Tone Control
Volume is controlled by the volume knob, and tone is adjusted with the bass and treble controls. The power supply automatically switches on/off by plugging and unplugging the shield (cord). The shield jack hole is designed to be sealed when not in use.

Body: Neck = Karin wood, Body = Karin wood, Skin = Dog skin (front)

Since the front is covered with dog skin, it can also be played with its natural sound.
All maintenance of the body has been done by a shamisen shop, and there has been no personal maintenance or modification, so you can purchase with confidence.
The strap pins were also attached to the body by a shamisen shop.
Batteries are not included.
The kanberi (a type of wear on the skin) is present but still playable.
A shamisen stand is not included.
Please refrain from purchasing if you are overly sensitive or a complainer.
