Description
This is a gift from the family of a deceased acquaintance. It is a work by Masaji Takizawa, a disciple of the 4th generation Tosaku school.
He was a master craftsman whose name was synonymous with ayu rods in the 1960s and 1970s. While it is now too heavy for practical use, it is being offered for sale as a collectible item.
As it is an old rod, there are signs of age-related deterioration. There appear to be shallow cracks or scratches on the lower part of the butt section and the second section from the butt. This does not affect its use. It has not been lacquered. There are scuffs and dirt. There are no chips. I believe there are no cracks in the ferrules. One of the end caps is a replacement.
Thank you for your consideration.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
We ask that only those who understand that this is a used item purchase it. Those seeking a perfect rod should refrain from purchasing.
