The Royal Sussex Trug
Royal Warrant Holder
Set of 2

Sussex Trug
A traditional basket passed down through generations by skilled artisans.
In England, when it comes to gardening baskets, this is the Royal Warrant holder shape. The distinctive boat shape, with its frame made of hard chestnut and flexible willow for the base, is impressive.

Purchased new from England as a personal import 30 years ago.

Used outdoors (under eaves, protected from rain) to store gloves and garden tools.

The natural aging of the wood adds a beautiful texture that complements the garden.
The scratches and dirt also contribute to its vintage and antique feel, which I find lovely.

As I am downsizing my garden due to my age, I am listing these in the hope that someone who loves English gardens will use them.

The smaller one has dirt from rubber gloves stuck to it.
There are also some popped nails and areas where nails are missing, but they can still be used without issue.
