Benefits of Rice Husk Charcoal:
1. Improves Soil Physical and Chemical Properties
  - Enhances aeration and drainage: Creates air pockets when mixed with soil, aiding root respiration and preventing root rot.
  - Strengthens water and nutrient retention: The porous structure holds moisture and fertilizer, keeping them in a form that plants can easily absorb.
  - Corrects acidic soil: Being alkaline, it adjusts acidic soil to the slightly acidic to neutral pH that vegetables prefer.
  - Supplies trace elements: Rich in minerals like silica, promoting robust plant growth.
2. Activates Microorganisms and Roots
  - Habitat for microorganisms: The pores in the charcoal provide a home for microorganisms, increasing soil microbes and enriching the soil.
  - Promotes root growth: Creates fluffy soil, making it easier for roots to extend.
3. Other Benefits (Pest Repellent, Deodorizing, Heat Retention)
  - Pest repellent: Has properties that deter aphids and slugs, effective when sprinkled around plant bases.
  - Deodorizing effect: Absorbs odors from compost and other materials.
  - Heat retention and shading: When mixed into soil in winter, it provides insulation. When spread on the surface as mulch, it suppresses weeds and prevents drying.
[Precautions]
Overuse can make the soil too alkaline (increase pH). It is generally recommended to mix it in at a ratio of 10-20% of the soil volume.
