● About Bizen Ware
Bizen ware is one of the Six Ancient Kilns of Japan, with a history spanning a thousand years.
It is made without glaze, using local clay, shaped on a potter's wheel, and then fired for 10 days and 10 nights using 10 tons of split red pine wood.
It is a traditional, natural pottery crafted with valuable materials and considerable effort.
Historically, it has been prized throughout Japan, known for the saying, Even if thrown, Bizen suribachi will not break.
Its flat, stable shape allows for easy application of force. It is recommended for making basil sauce, mashed potatoes, or grating yams. It can also be used as a dish for pickles or side dishes.
