This is a 1960s vintage smoked glass top coffee table / center table by Myer, a long-established British furniture manufacturer.
The intricate craftsmanship is impressive, with design elements such as the glass corners appearing to float slightly and the curved leg frames. It is a vintage piece from the golden age of British Mid-Century, with a sophisticated and beautiful appearance that catches the eye.
After the war, Scandinavian modern design became a huge boom, and furniture in the Scandinavian style began to be produced in the UK as well. The high technical skill and production capacity of the UK, with its foundation in traditional furniture making, made it possible to produce high-quality furniture. Representative British manufacturers include G-PLAN, which was an early adopter of Danish design, and A.H. McIntosh and Nathan, both long-established Scottish manufacturers. In addition, there were many other excellent furniture manufacturers in the Scandinavian style. British Scandinavian-style furniture made during the Mid-Century period is still highly regarded today for its quality and design, comparable to authentic Scandinavian furniture, and its popularity has been increasing in recent years.

Meyer
Horatio Myer & Co. Ltd., commonly known as Meyer, was founded in London in 1876. It started as a manufacturer of bedding, including bed frames, and later began producing other furniture. In the 1960s, they produced Danish-style coffee tables and side tables using teak, and their high-quality furniture with simple and elegant designs became popular. They continue to manufacture beds and other items today and are known as a long-established manufacturer in the furniture industry.
