#Enjoy Japan with Rose's Japanese Spirit ?

This is an extra-large Edo-style *ohitsu* (rice container)! ?
Traditionally in Japan, *ohitsu* have been cherished not just as a way to store cooked rice, but also as a cooking utensil that makes rice taste better. They absorb excess moisture from freshly cooked rice and, when the rice starts to dry out, they release moisture to keep it moist. This process also concentrates the flavor, allowing you to fully enjoy the natural sweetness of the rice (*′?`*)

This is an *ohitsu* size suitable for sushi restaurants or traditional inns.
It is an old item, but the bamboo wrapping and metal bands are still intact, making it a valuable piece. ?

Size: Diameter 36cm Height 25.5cm
Lid Diameter: Approximately 40cm
Condition: Please check the photos.
There are some areas with slight wood cracking, and there are signs of wooden repairs on both the *ohitsu* and the lid. While it is still in usable condition, we are offering it at a special price. ☆

This item was retrieved from a storehouse and will be delivered after a light dusting.
Please understand the condition of the item.

As this is an old item, please only purchase if you appreciate the natural aging and vintage character. ?

We will be listing more tableware and utensils gradually. ?
