【Echizen Lacquerware Nichigetsu Rosanjin "Reproduction" Pair of Bowls x 2 Sets】 Synthetic Lacquerware, Long-Term Storage Item

Thank you for viewing.

This is a masterpiece by the renowned Rosanjin Kitaoji... the Nichigetsu Bowl.

The Nichigetsu Bowl, which creatively uses gold and silver leaf from Kanazawa to represent the sun and moon, remains a popular choice among chefs even today.
*This product is urethane coated.

Originally, bowls were decorated with patterns that evoked the seasons. It is said that by depicting the sun and moon (Nichigetsu), this bowl was created to be usable year-round and cherished for a long time.
Its exquisite size, neither too big nor too small, and the dignified vermilion/black colors will serve its purpose well in slightly formal settings.

Its wider opening than a typical soup bowl makes it suitable for zoni (Japanese soup) and simmered dishes.
It is also recommended as tableware for New Year's zoni.
