~Shinichi Miyata~
Born in Miyazaki Prefecture.
After graduating from Nihon University College of Art, he worked as a designer in Tokyo.
Later, aspiring to create things according to his own ideals, he apprenticed in Asahikawa, Hokkaido.
He established his workshop in Aya Town and has been continuously creating unique, handcrafted furniture developed through his own dedication.

This bed, made by Atelier Miyata, a furniture workshop in Miyazaki Prefecture,
features luxurious use of large Japanese zelkova (sendan) wood for the bottom frame and headboard, finished with traditional Japanese natural lacquer (urushi) coating.

The slatted base that supports the body is characterized by the use of high-quality, premium cedar wood from Miyazaki Prefecture, known for its excellent moisture-regulating and relaxing properties.

Crafted using traditional Japanese joinery techniques, it can be assembled and disassembled using only wedges and interlocking joints, without any bolts or tools. When not in use, it can be disassembled into small parts for compact storage.
The cedar wood slatted structure efficiently releases moisture from the futon, preventing mold growth and keeping it dry and comfortable.
