This is a popular nib that ranks among the top 4 recommended dip pens for penmanship practice.

The name varies by brand:
* Nikko: ◆Sajipen (Spoon Pen)
* Tachikawa: ◆Spoon Pen
* Zebra: ◆Tamapen

Sajipen (Spoon Pen Nib):
This nib is hard and durable, allowing for the drawing of uniform lines. It can produce slight variations in line width (thick and thin lines) as well as consistently thick lines. By tilting the nib closer to the paper, you can achieve variations in line thickness. It is also used for drawing manga.

About Nib Manufacturers:
Lion, famous for office equipment, also produced nibs, but they are no longer manufactured.
Production and sales of nibs were discontinued over 20 years ago in 1996 (Heisei 8).

Currently, there are three Japanese nib brands available: Tachikawa, Nikko, and Zebra.
Nikko's brand has been inherited by Tachikawa, so there are only two manufacturers: Tachikawa and Zebra.
Tachikawa nibs are a popular brand supported by instructors from the Japan Penmanship Research Association.

There are claims that older products have better performance.
During Japan's period of high economic growth, around 1985 (Showa 60), the production of dip pens reached astronomical numbers, with 1 million gross (1 gross = 144 pens). However, with the changing times, government offices and banks also transitioned to ballpoint pens.

Nibs were crafted by artisans using machines. It is said that they still use the same machines from that era, but the number of artisans has decreased, and I have heard that the skills of artisans from the past were higher.
Furthermore, chrome-plated nibs show less deterioration and are said to retain their original performance even today.

I also enjoy practicing penmanship and change my nibs depending on what I am writing.
Tachikawa nibs are among my favorite.
