VTG Leather Gloves Fownes Brothers Silk-Lined Wrist Length Small
Fownes Brothers & Company
Historic Fownes Brothers, silk-lined, super soft, black leather gloves made in Italy, probably from the 50s. Wrist length, with button closure, in lightly used but otherwise great condition (that twisted finger is just from storage and will straighten right out with use). Just a slight bit of yellowing near the top of the gray 100% silk lining. Not sure what the superscript 2 means, so selling as a size 6. For a woman with small hands, and great for a teenage girl, especially one into wearing black. The company history makes them much more interesting than just another pair of vintage gloves. . . For over two centuries, Fownes Brothers & Co. has led in accessories innovation, blending tradition with modern technology since our founding in 1777. Originating in Worcester, England, Fownes quickly established a reputation for crafting some of Europe’s finest leather gloves, symbolizing quality and craftsmanship. This prestige grew internationally when U.S. President Teddy Roosevelt, known for his rugged spirit, wore Fownes gloves, solidifying our brand as a mark of quality, durability, and status. Today, we honor this illustrious history, drawing inspiration from our heritage to shape a future of enduring innovation and excellence in every piece we create. Hands are measured for gloves around your palm just below your knuckles and from the tip of your middle finger to your wrist just below your palm.
