1800s Antique Victorian Bacchus Gilded Brass Wall Mirror Beveled Glass

Striking antique brass mirror featuring an ornate openwork frame crowned with a sculptural Bacchus figure. Bacchus, the Roman god of wine, revelry, and abundance, is depicted with expressive facial detail and flowing hair, surrounded by scrolling foliage and grape-inspired ornamentation. This classical imagery gives the piece strong Old World and Art Nouveau influences. The mirror glass is beveled, adding depth and light reflection that enhances its dramatic presence. The frame is unmarked and appears to date to the early 1900s, a period celebrated for richly detailed decorative metalwork and mythological themes drawn from European revival styles. The brass has developed a warm, aged patina consistent with its age. The mirror shows a few small black age spots from time and use, visible upon close inspection, but remains very reflective and display-worthy. The hanger has been replaced with copper wire for secure hanging. Due to its solid brass construction, this mirror has a substantial weight and feels exceptionally well made. An eye-catching accent for a gallery wall, entryway, vanity, or bar area, this piece works beautifully in traditional, eclectic, maximalist, or classical interiors—especially spaces that celebrate art history and antique character. Approximate dimensions: • Height: 15 inches • Width: 10 inches Condition notes: • Heavy solid brass construction • Beveled mirror glass • Minor age-related black spotting on mirror • Replaced hanger (copper wire)
